Has anyone nursed a cat through pancreatitis? My 13 year old diabetic cat stopped eating and drinking water almost a week ago and has been treated at a veterinary clinic. We are nursing him at home with anti-nausea and pain meds, but he is still not eating and drinking very little water. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this illness? Thanks for any advice you can offer!

    Re: pancreatitis

We had a cat with a similar problem when I was a young man. It sounds like you have already done all the correct steps: taken to a vet, got diagnosis and treatment, received medications for home treatment, etc. The diabetes is a complicating factor. Here is a helpful page, but you probably know all of the steps already:

I am very sorry to read that your cat is so unwell. At least he is at home with you, where he is getting love and care. Every best wish to you!

Thanks for your kind words and the link. It was reassuring to read that we are following all the medically sound treatment. I wish my cat took pills so willingly!
