    Are There Pawprints In Heaven?

I hear of a place that is made of gold,
a place where we shall never grow old,
But one answer I have not heard at all,
will there be paw prints from my little dog?

He promised us joy right from the start,
I just wonder if she'll be a part.
So as I sit here and dream of the day,
I wonder if heaven she will stay?

When your walking down with the saints of old
take a glimpse of that new road and if there you shall see,
Maybe a pawprint just for me.

It seems a pity that the author of the poem seems uncertain about whether she will meet her pet in the afterlife. Pets and caretakers who share a bond of love will be reunited, just by the sheer force of their will to be together. Love always finds a way....

Glad you found that poem, Brooks!

Animals have souls as we do and are on their own evolutionary path.

When your 'time' comes and you pass over all those you have loved (who have passed over) and who have loved you will be there to greet you - human and animal.
All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.
