Is it ironic that it is the Whippet breed that has this genetic defect? I have seen a picture of at least one other Whippet with this condition. I hope they are not uncomfortable with all that bulk. -
Well thats one up on me because I have never seen anything like that before. I too would also wonder whether or not they are comfortable. Poor thing.....Did you read some of the comments people posted on the article?

Went back and reread the article and comments. They mention shortened life-span in the article and muscle cramping in one of the comments...but

Oh my, that dog is is huge contrast to her breed! BTW, the dog really looks happy, so I guess there's no problems there.Comment
