    hi,

oh it´s very interesting what you said! I got some of my wrong informations from a good TV show where they work with animal rescue houses in germany we say Tierheim to this. I believed what they said but they only work with deutschen Doggen from the animal rescue houses and this dogs are often old or ill or come from an owner who didn´t know a lot of dogs. So it could be that they told the people their experiences with the dogs which owner never liked them and gave them into the animal rescue house (Tierheim).

I never had a great dane so I can´t say something about my own experience but if an owner of this dogs says something different than me I think he knows more than me.

At the moment I think that I will adopt an American Indian Dog in future but if I will get two dogs the second dog would be an poodle-basset mix, middle poodle, a german shepard or perhaps a great dane. But I don´t know what will happens in future if I get one or two dogs... I don´t know! The things you told me about the deutschen Doggen helped me really and I know more about this wonderful gentle giants now. Thank you for giving me this tips! :) :)

    LG, Susi

LOL, no problem. I'm always available for "Dane chatter". They truely are a wonderful breed who tugs greatly at my heartstrings but I also know they aren't the perfect dog for everyone. :)

Good luck in your dog search...hopefully in the future you get just what your looking for. And BTW- I love poodle mixes of almost any variety, thought I've never seen a poodle/basset mix. I'm sure they are adorable!! :)
